Morning Rituals
Featuring Nicole James,
I'm such a creature of habit that I do the same thing every weekday morning. The consistency helps create a routine that sets me up for success creatively and gets important things out of the way so I can focus on working.
I start each weekday with a writing exercise called Morning Pages (from The Artist's Way) right when I wake up, then a quick workout, and finally a nice cup of coffee before I sit down in the studio - at which point I pick the music that will guide the day and spend some time staring at whatever's in progress and formulating a plan before diving into actually painting.
